Project: Zaboomafoolz

Zaboomafoolz is a Vancouver based Bboy crew, that was newly established in 2015. The purpose of this project was to build and create an identity for Zabomafoolz. Known for their ecstatic and playful nature, they also wanted to project what dance means to them and how it shaped them into the unique individual dancers they’ve become. Primarily focusing on apparel design, a combination of urban street style and their association with the ringtail lemur were taken into consideration. The design features illustrations and strong bold typography hierarchy. The logo was inspired by the lemur’s tail that displays playfulness and one of Zaboomafoolz’s mottos they go by, “the word ‘play’ fosters creativity, enjoyment, and self-exploration.”
